Call for Abstracts · MESTRO 2026
Submit Your Abstract
We invite radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiobiologists, and allied health professionals to submit original research for presentation at the 5th MESTRO Congress, December 4–5, 2026, Alfaisal University, Riyadh.
Submission Criteria
Please read all guidelines carefully before submitting. Abstracts that do not meet these requirements will not be sent for peer review.
Word Limit
Abstracts must not exceed 300 words, excluding the title and author list. The live word counter in the submission form will alert you when you approach the limit.
Structured Format
Use the four-section structure: Background (context and rationale), Methods (study design, patient cohort, equipment, statistical analysis), Results (quantitative findings), and Conclusion (clinical or scientific significance).
Language & Spelling
All abstracts must be submitted in English. Proofread carefully — abstracts are published in the congress proceedings exactly as submitted. Abbreviations must be defined at first use.
Originality
Work must be original and not previously published in a peer-reviewed journal or presented at another international congress. Simultaneous submission to other meetings is not permitted.
Author Consent
The submitting author is responsible for obtaining written consent from all co-authors prior to submission. By submitting, you confirm that all listed authors have reviewed and approved the abstract.
Ethics Approval
Research involving human subjects, patient data, or animals must have received appropriate institutional ethics committee or IRB approval. State the approval reference number in the Methods section.
Conflicts of Interest
All financial relationships, speaker fees, research grants, and potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed at the time of submission. State 'None' if no conflicts exist.
Data Availability
Abstracts reporting clinical trial results must include the trial registration number (e.g. ClinicalTrials.gov, ISRCTN). Case reports must include patient consent confirmation.
Scientific Tracks
Select the track that best fits your work. The scientific committee may reassign abstracts to the most appropriate track.
Clinical Oncology
Treatment outcomes, phase II/III clinical trials, tumour-site-specific protocols (head & neck, lung, breast, GI, GU, CNS, gynaecological), palliative radiotherapy, re-irradiation, and multidisciplinary management.
Medical Physics
Advanced dosimetry, treatment planning systems, quality assurance, commissioning of modern radiotherapy equipment, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS/SBRT), brachytherapy physics, and radiation protection.
Radiobiology
Cellular and molecular mechanisms governing radiotherapy response and resistance, fractionation and hypofractionation biology, normal-tissue toxicity, radiogenomics, and biomarker discovery.
Technology & Innovation
Adaptive radiotherapy, AI-assisted contouring and treatment planning, MR-Linac, proton and heavy-ion therapy, FLASH RT, surface-guided RT, and emerging delivery platforms.
Review Process
- 1
Submission
Your abstract is received and assigned a unique reference number. A confirmation email is sent immediately.
- 2
Eligibility Check
The congress secretariat verifies that all mandatory fields are complete and the abstract meets the formal criteria (word count, language, structured format).
- 3
Double-Blind Peer Review
Each abstract is scored independently by two members of the MESTRO 2026 Scientific Committee. Reviewers are blinded to author identity and institution.
- 4
Decision & Notification
Authors are notified of the outcome — accepted (oral or e-poster), revision requested, or declined — by November 20, 2026.
- 5
Presenter Registration
Accepted presenters must complete delegate registration by November 30, 2026. Failure to register by this date will result in removal from the programme.
